Professional Profile: Joyce Shelleman, PhD

I've been a professor and workshop leader, executive, and consultant. I also happen to be an introvert. My background has allowed me to see and experience firsthand the dynamics that a high achieving professional can face in your career if you also are an introvert. The combination of this experience with my training has allowed me to develop the tools that can help you make the most of your situation.
The focus of Dr. Shelleman's studies in the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her doctorate was on individual psychology, human interactions, and how these systems affect each other.
Dr. Shelleman has developed and presented numerous interactive workshops and courses for working professionals and other adults. She has been on the faculty at institutions that include the University of Pittsburgh, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Southern Maine, teaching topics in organizational behavior, leadership, career development, strategic planning, and business ethics.
Dr. Shelleman created the popular workshop, "Leveraging Your Potential as an Introvert," offered by the University of New Hampshire for the past two years.
Joyce is also experienced with a broad range of hands-on business and professional activities. These include operations, strategic planning, financial oversight, marketing, applied research, peer review and program evaluation, and team building as well as many others. She has served as the head of corporate strategic planning at several hospitals.
